Meet Megan of Camellia Memories

Camellia Memories Stationery Designer, Megan

Welcome to my creative corner!

I’m Megan, owner and designer of Camellia Memories. Much like a wedding invitation, I’m a creative thing in a small package–really, I only measure up to 4’11”!

When I was a bride, I poured through wedding stationery for weeks. But I couldn’t find a design that screamed “my wedding.” So I used my graphic design training from Loyola University New Orleans to make my own.

I fell in love with wedding stationery design, so much so that I didn’t want to stop! Now I create unique wedding invitations for special couples like you in New Orleans and across the country. So if you’re like me and want a wedding invitation that’s elegant, a little bit different, and truly unique to you, then I’d love to chat with you!

A Little More About Me…

• I’m a NOLA native and plan to live here forever. I mean really, where else can do food & fun like we do?

• I love gardening–My favorite plant is a carnivorous pitcher plant named Judy. She eats the bugs. That makes me happy.

• Medieval history is my jam–My 18th birthday present was a fantasy sword from Disney World. It still hangs in my office today–don’t worry, it’s not sharp!

• One of my happy places–Filming my blacksmith husband while he works!

Behind the Name

Camellia Memories Pastel Artist

My grandmother, Joy Bates, was a fabulous artist, and I was her only grandchild to inherit her talent for visual art. When she passed away two months after I decided to start my business, I named it for her favorite flower, one that had been important to her family. And so Camellia Memories was born.

Carrying on my grandmother’s legacy, I incorporate pastel art into my stationery designs using her studio collection. The pastel motif offers a soft, romantic vibe that I mix with modern design techniques and layouts, which gives Camellia Memories' stationery a unique look.
